Welcome

My name is Graham Tabberner. I am a fifty seven year old married man, currently living in the village of Tanygrisiau in the Snowdonia Mountains of North Wales. I speak both English and Welsh. This is my second attempt at creative writing. My first being a poem published in the anthology ‘Poetry Now Wales 1994’ entitled Enigma.

I have always been an avid reader from childhood. My favourite titles were The Owl Service by Alan Garner and the ‘Narnia’ books by C.S Lewis. The idea of otherworld’s adjacent to the world in which we live has always fascinated me, with the promise of escapism. As an adult, Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein; The Modern Prometheus introduced me to the epistolary style of storytelling and I wished to contribute to these selective genre of fiction.  I formulated the idea over many years without ever putting pen to paper, so to speak, until semi retiring, the result of which is The Magical Diaries, a homage to all the above.
